Hello, I am Sharon. I am the wife of a nurse who faithfully goes to work 4 days a week to care for people who must spend hours every other day in dialysis to keep themselves alive. He is the love of my life and the father of my children.
I am the mother of two young, teenage sons, ages 13 and 15 and a 6 year old daughter. I also have a 2 year old daughter in heaven who has been gone from us for six years now.
Besides the full time job of homemaking, there are a number of things that interest me. The top of the list and maybe it’s the only thing, is that I love to learn. Throughout my life I have taken up various hobbies such as sewing, embroidery, flower arranging, interior design, quilting, gardening, homesteading, and paper-crafting. After I learn how to do it, I tend to lose interest and go on to the next thing. It’s a been a terrible realization that I’ve come to, but it’s true. One thing that hasn’t changed is, I love to read. I am interested in people…. How they live, their relationships, and why they do what they do.
I am also passionate about God and am a Follower of the Way. My faith heritage is Progressive Amish-Mennonite. I live in a large Mennonite and Amish community in south central Kansas. In the past number of years I have been studying our historical theology of Anabaptism and have found it endlessly interesting and challenging.
In this blog I hope to share not only stories of my community life, family, and interests, but also various thoughts and ruminations about the things I read.
